Galway Comedy Festival presents Tigh He-He Comedy Club with Glenn Wool, Diederik Zuurmond, Ellen O’Reilly, Ian Coppinger

Galway Comedy Festival is bursting at the seams with comedy brilliance, all part of a 70-strong line-up of international stars, homegrown comedy greats, and emerging talent, playing 69 shows across 16 venues over 7 days and nights. You’d best start planning your week of ‘carefully curated craic’.

Glenn Wool
Glenn Wool is “effortlessly funny with an affability that other comics can only dream of” (The Guardian), an “edgy, imaginative, funny and original who sets the standards at the Fringe” (Daily Telegraph). This comedic ability has seen Glenn perform in Australia, New Zealand, USA, South Africa, Europe, Singapore, and even Saudi Arabia. He was nominated for Best International Stand Up at The New Zealand Comedy Awards and twice for Best Headliner at the Chortle Awards. A huge music fan, he has also played Reading, Leeds, Download & Glastonbury Festivals.

Diederik Zuurmond
The Dutch know a thing or two about being able to speak foreign languages and Amsterdam-based, British-born, stand-up Diederik Zuurmond is a shining example. He clinched both the audience and jury prizes at the 2023 English Comedy Talent Awards and has toured extensively across Britain and the Netherlands.

Ellen O’Reilly
Before she became a stand-up and comedy club host, this Louth woman was a musician who only turned to comedy “after her life went a bit topsy-turvy” as she says herself. Retiring her bass guitar and putting her creativity into jokes has paid off, as her very filthy stories and sing-alongy-jokey songs attest. With material that has been described as “not for the faint-hearted” and led to comparisons with Bill Bailey, Ellen is certainly one to watch at #GCF25.

Ian Coppinger
A mainstay of Irish comedy since the 1990s, Ian remains one of Ireland’s busiest comedians, regularly playing to packed houses at the Edinburgh, Melbourne, Montreal Just for Laughs, Glasgow, Galway, Dublin, Adelaide and Wellington comedy festivals. A first-rate improviser, Ian is a co-founder of The Dublin Comedy Improv (est. 1992), where he still performs every Monday night in Dublin’s International Bar – Ireland’s longest running comedy club.
