Galway band Field Trip have released a new album with a new music video and live show to celebrate!

They have announced their triumphant return to live music with a gig to celebrate the upcoming release of their new album, Foreign Land. This much-anticipated show takes place in the Mechanics Institute in Galway on Saturday April 19th – not the first surprise reappearance to take place on Easter weekend!

Foreign Land was recorded by Field Trip in the Summer of 2018, in a classroom of Scoil Chaitríona and in the living room of a house on Sandy Road. The songs harbour a nostalgia for a time long gone, where friends lived in each other’s footsteps for the briefest of moments. Foreign Land is one last attempt at smelling the flowers of youth before embracing the steady rhythms of life. The album features crowd favourites from bygone gigs such as ‘Parnell Avenue’ and ‘I Get Down’ along with previously unheard tracks such as ‘Death at a Birthday Party’ and ‘Forget Those Eyes’.

Field Trip are a garage/jangle-pop band from Galway City on Ireland’s west coast. They released a string of singles and EPs in the late 2010s which garnered a cult following and attracted crowds to gigs all over Ireland and at some of the country’s favourite music festivals such as Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, and Arcadian Fields. Field Trip went on to play support slots for some of the hottest Irish indie bands of the time such as Silverbacks, The Clockworks, Squarehead, Oh Boland, So Cow and many more, before the band took an extended hiatus while members of the band emigrated, got new jobs, and moved further along life’s windy path.
