Eilís is to host a diverse music session featuring Trad, Showband skronky tonk, and DJ Sets from Ireland’s finest.

Taking place in the intimate setting of Café An Taibhdhearc in Galway City, Eilís will introduce the night with a short set accompanied by the lute harp, maintaining early influences of traditional singing through her own songs in a language unique to herself.

Queen of the Rushes will be playing traditional fiddle tunes and singing alongside the bouzouki. Her set includes a 15 verse ballad she recently wrote about the actions of Palestinian freedom fighter Leila Khaled.

Oh Boland take centre stage with thread agrarian tragedies through an oblique mix of Flying Nun jangle, new wave skronk-guitar, and 70s power-pop hooks formed around the songwriting of Tuam-native Niall Murphy.

They will bring the night to a close with DJ sets from Odd Ned & Michael Dignam. Michael, who DJs under the alias Diggers is known for creating a party atmosphere on the dance floor and searching for the true essence of rave culture. He often crosses genres, seamlessly joining the dots between everything from Ambient, Electro and Chicago House, to Progressive House, Break Beats and Techno. Odd Ned’s radio shows and sets explore dubbed out soundscapes, hypnotic grooves and murky riddims, sprinkled in detail and texture. Focusing on palette rather than style, he often blends more dance leaning sonics with spacious and ethereal moments, combining the more atmospheric sides of dub and club music.
