Roddy Doyle’s work captures the spirit, humour, and resilience of Irish, and particularly Dublin, life. His sharp wit, incisive social commentary, and deeply human stories have made him a household name, both in Ireland and around the world. He has written novels for adults and children, short stories, plays, screenplays and memoirs, and has won numerous prizes including the PEN Ireland Award and the Booker Prize for Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha.

Last year’s The Women Behind the Door returns to Paula Spencer, his beloved character from The Woman Who Walked Into Doors, for a story of mother and daughter untangling the ghosts of the past.
