Clifden Traditional Music Festival is a weekend of the very best of Irish music, song and dance with concerts, sessions, workshops and outdoor entertainment.

As always at the Trad Fest, public events are free and everyone is invited to come along and experience what should be a great weekend of music, song and dance – there is something to suit everyone! Clifden will once again play host to some of the country’s finest traditional musicians, singers and dancers and these performers will play sessions in venues throughout the town as part of Clifden Trad Fest’s Session Trail.

Now in its 13th year, the festival has gone from strength to strength. Beginning on Thursday with a Youth Session. Friday starts with Clifden National School Marching Band and continues in the evening with the official Opening Concert and a lively Pub Session Trail. Saturday is a busy day as workshops start the day in a variety of instruments, and lots of events in the town culminate in a festive atmosphere. These include: A busking competition, a 5K Run/Walk, Street entertainment, Music on the town square as well as lively afternoon pub sessions. Saturday Night is always a highlight, with an open air headline concert on Market Square. This year they have a Top Class act which will be announced shortly. Saturday night sees the pub session trail continue with Sunday bringing the festival to a close with our Traditional Music Mass and our Farewell Session.
