As one of the most dynamic and welcoming spaces near Eyre Square, Mary Mullens combines great food, lively entertainment and standout hospitality under one roof. As we move towards the end of winter, there’s a renewed sense of energy around the venue, with exciting updates across food, drink, accommodation and live events, just in time for a packed spring calendar!
Food has always been a cornerstone of the Mary Mullens experience, and while the much-loved favourites remain, a refreshed menu is on the horizon. The team is currently revising the offering, with a stronger focus on sandwiches, lighter bites and carefully curated options that work just as well for a relaxed lunch as they do for pre-evening drinks. Alongside the core menu, a rotating specials programme ensures there’s always something new to discover, with food and drink specials adding variety for regulars and first-time visitors.
On the drinks side, Mary Mullens continues to shine. The new cocktail menu builds on the venue’s reputation for crowd-pleasing classics and expertly mixed favourites, including the ever-popular spicy margarita. Seasonal drinks promotions also feature regularly, particularly around major sporting events, creating a lively and social atmosphere throughout the week.
Entertainment remains central to the venue’s appeal. Live music, DJs and late nights are firmly part of the schedule. This spot remains one of the best thanks to its ability to move seamlessly from daytime casual catch-ups to late-night energy, all within its spacious courtyard and indoor areas.
With rugby season now in full swing, did you know that Mary Mullens is also a go-to destination for live sport? All Six Nations fixtures will be shown across multiple screens in their courtyard, creating an unbeatable match-day atmosphere. With four large screens already in place (and plans to enhance the setup even further) it’s an ideal spot to gather for Ireland’s games, the men’s and women’s World Cup qualifiers and other major international fixtures, complete with food and drink specials to match the occasion.
St Patrick’s Day is another highlight on the calendar, with few venues better positioned to celebrate. Located directly along the parade route, Mary Mullens is perfectly placed for food and drinks before, during or after the festivities. Each year, the venue hosts a full Irish-themed celebration, featuring trad music, live bands, DJs and late-night entertainment, making it a true hub of celebration on Galway’s biggest day. Last year Mary Mullens welcomed the Japanese Irish trad music band Pinch of Snuff to the stage as part of their celebrations and this year they’ve helped bring them back to Galway to play an even bigger venue -Róisín Dubh- on March 14th as part of their Irish Tour 2026. Now sold out.
Beyond the bar, Mary Mullens also offers exceptional accommodation options right in the heart of the city centre. Mary’s Rooms provide stylish accommodation for visitors looking to stay close to the action, while Tribeca House caters to larger groups, sleeping up to fourteen guests. With open-plan living spaces, BBQ facilities and even a hot tub, it’s an ideal choice for group getaways, family holidays or St Patrick’s Day weekends in the city.
With its evolving menus, packed entertainment calendar and unique mix of food, drink and accommodation offerings, Mary Mullens continues to stand out as one of Galway’s most vibrant nightlife destinations. This is a place where locals and visitors alike can eat well, celebrate often and always feel at home. For more visit marymullens.ie and follow them on Instagram @marymullensbar.
