Citóg Records Return for One Night Only!

C’mere to me, d’ya remember Citóg? Ya, they used to have those class indie gigs every week and then they went on to set up a record label for local artists! Well they’re back for one final shindig this Summer! Find out more here...

The Citóg Records Summer Reunion takes place upstairs in Róisín Dubh on Saturday July 20th from 8pm, and you are all invited. Come all ye music-lovers, friends new and old, to reminisce about the good ol’ days over a few pints while enjoying live music from the inimitable Eoin Dolan, Kowalski and Special Guests. Whether you attended a Citóg gig in the Róisín Dubh, The Cellar, or De Burgo’s over the past 15 years, came along to one of the compilation album launches, played bass in a band that performed at one of the weekly nights, or you’re just a fan of grass-roots local music, the Citóg Records crew want to see you there so they can say a proper thank you for years of support.

Eoin Dolan to play Róisín Dubh on July 20th

Eoin Dolan is a songwriter and producer from Galway, whose music combines sublime and sometimes heartbreaking melody with lush instrumentation and a classic songwriting finesse to create a vintage psychedelic pop sound. Eoin has self-released eight records and produced work for Field Trip, New Pope and Me Auld Flower. His latest release, The Most Important Thing Is Peace Within Yourself, is out now on Rón Records.

Specializing in fuzzy, guitar-driven folk-rock songs with an emphasis on catchy hooks and melodies, Kowalski draws influence from a number of different alternative acts, including Jack White, Courtney Barnett, and Tom Waits. Under his own name, Dylan Murphy released 3 EPs, performed at Body&Soul and Electric Picnic and supported a variety of well-known acts, including Jeffrey Lewis, Brian Deady, and Jake Clemons.

Kowalski will play the Citóg Records Reunion on July 20th

Citóg Records was a music collective from Galway, Ireland who organised sweet gigs, released an annual compilation of songs and put on fundraisers for local community charities such as The Melting Pot Luck, COPE Galway, Amach LGBT, Let’s Get Talking and Galway Simon Community. Notable acts that were part of the Citóg Records family include New Pope, The Clockworks, Rural Savage, Majestic Bears, Steven Sharpe, Whim, Padraig Jack, Harrison & The Devil, The Depravations, Tracy Bruen, The Followers Of Otis, and many more.

You can listen to all four of Citóg Records Compilations on their Bandcamp, to get a real taste of the Galway music scene of years gone by.

In March 2021, amidst one of many lockdowns, members of the Citóg Records music collective were asked to create new versions of beloved Galway songs by artists past and present. The result was Amhráin, a series of performances filmed at iconic locations in Galway city such as The Cornstore, Bell, Book & Candle and the Galway Arts Centre. Amhráin is a Galway 2020 Small Towns Big Ideas project and features Field Trip, Dylan Murphy, Katie O’Connor, Eoin Dolan, Steven Sharpe, Tracy Bruen, Jack Lee, Emma Lohan and The Curly Organ.
