Aplomb Sustainable Fashion
Aplomb, a noun meaning self-confidence or assurance, especially when in a demanding situation. Aplomb is a menswear and lifestyle store based in Galway’s thriving Westend. This retail space specialises in sustainable fashion and goods from all over Europe and also closer to home.
Founded in 2020 by Stephen Cooke, he wanted to create a space where affordable fashion and sustainability could coexist. Aplomb stocks brands Dedicated and Neutral from Scandinavia with products made from recycled plastic bottles and 100% organic cotton, as well as brands from closer to home like Galway’s own Grey & Ginger and Fiáin, Badly Made Books from Cork and Crann from Meath. All the brands they stock have sustainable production practices at their core, for example Mud Jeans from Holland, who use 92% less water in the production of their jeans compared to other brands.
