Fabric Romance and Galway Sewing Meetup are excited to introduce the first Galway based Frocktails this Saturday, 11th May 2024, celebrating sewists and dress makers across Ireland.

What is Frocktails?
Frocktails is a community event for sewists to get together, make new friends and admire each other’s handmade outfits over a cocktail. It started approx 10 years ago in Melbourne and has since been adopted in countries and cities around the world.

Previous Frocktails were held in Belfast (2022) and Dublin (2023) and it is now time for Galway to shine and (dare we dream?) make this an annual event. These evetns have already generated quite a buzz in the community and beyond. On the night they are expecting approximately 60-80 guests, with makers traveling from all over Ireland to partake in the festivities.

What happens on the night?
Attendees get a chance to mingle on arrival and enjoy signature fashion themed cocktails or mocktails and appetizers. This is then followed by a cat walk that willing attendees can participate in (non-mandatory) as well as a raffle of sponsored prizes. There will be a photographer and music (DJ) to make this a night to remember.
