Event: Free Safety Training for Galway’s Night-Time Businesses

Recognising the unique challenges faced by businesses and individuals operating in the evening and night-time, Galway City Council is offering free training sessions focused on safety and best practices.

Galway City Council, in partnership with the Night-Time Economy Unit of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, is taking proactive steps to enhance safety within the city's evening and night-time economy.

This initiative is a key component of Galway City Council's Night-Time Economy Action Plan and reinforces the city's ongoing commitment to a safe and vibrant night-time environment, as exemplified by its Purple Flag accreditation.

The training will support those working and enjoying Galway's nightlife by:

-Equipping businesses and staff with practical skills to identify and address various vulnerabilities that may arise after dark, including women's safety, mental health challenges, and the effects of drugs and alcohol.
