Galway Uke Fest is a four-day celebration of all things ukulele. Whether you’re a seasoned player or simply uke-curious, there’s something for everyone. Now in its sixth year, the 2025 festival welcomes over 250 participants from around the world, including visitors from Canada, the US, Australia, Indonesia, and a coach load from the UK! The festivities begin on Thursday evening and wrap up on Sunday afternoon, with events taking place across Galway’s city centre. Expect festival favourites like the Golden Uke Competition, Festival Clubs, live concerts, and a range of workshops. This year, they’ve expanded the programme to include lunchtime gigs, and the legendary Flashmob is back, reimagined as a walking and playing Amble-lele through the streets of Galway!

Cork band Ways of Seeing are coming to The Loft at Seven for a special performance with support from Galway’s own Siúcra. Ways of Seeing blend elements of shoegaze and alt-rock with a brooding, intellectual edge. Having just released the single ‘Idolise’ from their upcoming sophomore album (Christian Best – producer and Daniel Fox – mixing), 2025 is the year Ways of Seeing come to the fore. Joining them on the night is Galway alternative band Siúcra. Siúcra, known for blending alternative rock, trad, and folk influences into something uniquely their own, have been making waves across the country. From winning HotPress’ Local Hero competition on behalf of Mid-West Radio’s listenership to releasing their debut EP Rosetta last November, they’ve been pushing boundaries with their music. With their first music video and acoustic live sessions now out on YouTube, they’re fired up and ready to bring their sound to The Loft.

Yoga in the Park will take place in Fr Burke Park (weather dependent*), from 10-11am followed by a social coffee in one of the neighbourhood's lovely local cafés. All levels of yoga welcome. The yoga session is going to be free and hosted by the wonderful Katy Harrison. Katy is a yoga teacher from Galway who believes in the transformative power of yoga to connect us with our true selves. She blends poetry, music and the mystical elements of Celtic mythology together with the physical and mental aspects of yoga.
