Weekend Agenda

The Galway Jazz Festival kicks off this weekend, so the boozers will be packed with some sexy jazz acts all weekend. There’s also a pop-up shop from Galway’s best designers and crafters, and a weekend-long cultural event of grassroots randomness and fun. Definitely not a weekend to spend on the couch!

Their debut album is called “Chilled Milk”, just released, and it doesn’t get any cooler than that. Hailed as one of Ireland’s best live acts, their signature melodies are full of “rhythmic pizazz”. They did do a badass cover of Jason Derulo’s “Dirty Talk” so look forward to that.

JOHN DALY

The chords and pads in his house tracks – whose titles regularly reference water – are often calming, as they hypnotically wash over listeners like endless tides. Sumptuous synth tones evoke mental imagery of deep bodies of azure water, the ripples on the surface echoed in the delay and reverb effects Daly applies to his various sonic elements.
