Indulge in fantastic food

Whether you're fueling up for the day at breakfast time, taking a lunch break or reflecting on a great day with loved ones over dinner, you won't find it difficult to source some quality food for great value in Oranmore.


With an number of accolades to their name, including an AA Rosette for Fine Dining, Basilico Restaurant in Oranmore has been incredibly successful since opening in 2008. Their á la carte menu has a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets and a new menu is prepared every season so there's always something new to enjoy at Basilico. Their stone-baked pizza and authentic Italian bread is hard to beat for both taste and price and it's prepared fresh every day in-house by their Italian Pizzaiolo.

This popular café has spread its roots all the way to Oranmore - different location but all the same fantastic flavours that you've come to know from Roots Café and Bistro! They specialise in good times and good food from light fluffy crepes, crispy pizza to delicious pastas and a great selection of wines and beers, amazing coffee and even better cocktails. Roots is always the ideal spot for grabbing a bite for lunch.

This cosy French restaurant serves dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. The stone building provides a relaxing vibe that makes it perfect for a date night, with live jazz sessions each Thursday at 7.30pm and for Sunday Brunch, there's really no place better for enjoying a laid back meal. It's also a family-friendly establishment with a kids menu that's just as tasty as the adults! Armorica have a fabulous selection of wines available and their popular 'Meet the Maker' events always go down well with those who want to want to learn about the people behind the wine.

This friendly, warm café serves delicious foods that has been sourced from local producers and suppliers. Their gourmet sandwiches are prepared and packaged fresh every day. The types of bread and fillings change daily so a new delight always awaits! Or you can simply pop in for a soothing cup of the award winning Fixx coffee to keep off the chill.

With a great evening menu that uses local produce to create freshly prepared dishes and a drinks menu to suit all tastes, Porterhouse is a great place to go to enjoy a meal and stay for a few drinks. Explore the area

Just five minutes outside the village of Oranmore, Renville Park is the perfect place to take your pup for a stroll on the trails through the woodland. The park also contains a large kid's playground for the little ones entertainment. Home to a castle and an old stately house which dates back to the 16th century,  this park is a great place to immerse yourself in the history of the area and with the stunning scenic views of Galway Bay, it really is a magical place to spend your day.

Dating back to around the 15th century, Oranmore Castle was originally a stronghold of a prominent Norman family of Galway. The castle played a pivotal part in the defence of Galway during the Confederate Rebellion in the 1640s. Nowadays, the castle is an enchanting, welcoming paradise of art, music and history. Its exceptional panoramic views of Galway Bay, especially with a summer sunset, are really something special.
