Next week, Galway Pride / Bród na Gaillimhe will launch their exciting programme with a couple of fabulous shows ahead of the festival in August!
Every year for 32 years Galway Pride has brought colour, chants and music to the city of Galway. While Pride week 2021 is from August 9th to the 15th, this year Galway Pride is kicking off proceedings early as it hosts two special events in Galway at the end of July.
Speaking on this year's theme of Hope, Chair of Pride Owen Hanley said; "The LGBT+ community is at its strongest when we can all come together. With a mix of outdoor events and online events across the week, we really hope that this Pride will mark the beginning of our community being able to come back together again."
Starting loud and proud, Galway Pride will be hosting a Drag Ladies Day on Thursday 29th. Three incredible drag performers, Donatella, Tartelaw and Annie Naggins, will host a drag and drinks night in Club Áras na nGael, with doors open from 6pm. Tickets are just €10 and can be bought here.
The following day Galway Pride will officially launch their 2021 Pride Guide in Palás. The event will see the Deputy Mayor of Galway join the LGBT+ community to celebrate over 30 events across Pride Week, which starts on August 9th. There will be a gathering in-person with speeches and music, and it will also be streamed online. You can book your free ticket here.
The Galway Pride committee is deeply thankful for the support it gets from the entire community and asks everyone to get involved, take part, and be proud!
