Walk-in Wine Bar Menu

Éan’s homely wine bar area is the ideal spot for spontaneous candle lit catch-ups with friends and family over Christmas and into the New Year. It now welcomes walk-ins Wednesday to Sunday, from 5.30pm to 10pm, offering a lighter bar snack-focused menu and a wide selection of natural biodynamic wines, which are available by the glass.

Éan Luath (Early Bird) Menu

To tempt diners down Druid Lane during Christmas and January, the award-winning restaurant & wine bar has launched an aptly named ‘Éan Luath’ (Early Bird) menu. Available on Sundays only between 5.30pm and 7pm, it offers incredible value, giving first-time guests (and regulars) the chance to sit down and share innovative seasonally-focused dishes from Éan’s regular Dinner Menu offering for just €30 per person.

The Éan Luath menu includes a selection of small plates to start, followed by your choice of a shared meat or fish dish. This is served alongside a couple of more substantial vegetable-forward sharing plates, which hero local in-season produce from Leaf & Root Farm in Loughrea, Co. Galway, and you’ll finish your meal enjoying something sweet to round off your Éan experience.

As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm, and there’s no better excuse needed to pay a visit to Éan on a Sunday for some inventive Bib Gourmand grade bites. Reservations can be made online at www.eangalway.com.

Introductory Wine Appreciation Course

Éan’s new four week Introductory Wine Appreciation Course is the perfect gift for the wine lover in your life. The course has been devised by the restaurant & wine bar’s renowned Sommelier, Niall Flynn, whose passion for wine began while living in Italy. So enamoured by the experience, he decided to change careers and gain a qualification from the prestigious Italian Association of Sommeliers, subsequently becoming a fountain of knowledge on natural and biodynamic wines, and the latest industry trends.

Budding wine enthusiasts, who can't yet tell their bardo from a beaujolais, will be taken on a journey of discovery over four intimate two hour-long sessions. Flynn will teach novices the fundamentals of wine tasting, identifying and understanding what different aromas mean, how to distinguish between grape varietals, and explore different old world wine regions. His course will also cover the fundamentals of food and wine pairings and help novices to decipher the often difficult world of wine terminology.

Ean’s Introductory Wine Appreciation Course is priced at €250.00 per person and will run in the wine bar over four consecutive Monday evenings (6.30pm to 8.30pm), beginning on 16th January and finishing on 6th February 2023. Places can be booked online via Eventbrite.com.
