This month we are delighted that the Siúlóid Síochána / Peace Walk will be supported by some courageous and very talented artists.

We are honoured to announce that the extraordinary poet Rita Ann Higgins will recite some of her poetry at our destination spot, the Blackrock steps. Her poetry demonstrates abundant psychological insight, moral depth and social vision that puts human vulnerability, resilience and responsibility front and centre stage. She brings breath to voices that might be stifled.

Furthermore, the uber talented Lúan & Cedar will share a couple of tunes with us at the steps. Cedar Dobson is a Galway based musician from Yosemite, California who specialises in wind instruments including the newly invented Octotune.

Lúan is a Galwegian Folk singer who sings politically charged folk songs and has recently released the single “Road to Palestine” as part of the fundraising efforts of Pilgrims for Palestine.

We are very grateful to each artist for not only coming along to the peace walk but for all the artistic advocacy they have gifted to the general public thus far.

Finally, there promises to be another very special guest who hopes to join the Siúlóid Síochána and take steps4peace with the community on our November 1st walk.

Please share far and wide. Please make the time for peace. Please bring your friends and family. We promise you, you’ll come away feeling hopeful after experiencing humanity at it’s best.

If you can’t make Galway would you consider taking @steps4peace in your own area?
