Westend Street Feast

After its inaugural first year which saw 2,500 people casually drop by,Galway’s westend will host their neighbourhood Street Feast on Bank Holiday Monday, June 4th from 11am to 4pm. The Street Feast is bringing together the much loved and award-winning businesses in the area as part of the westend summer celebrations.

As part pf European Region of Gastronomy 2018- Galway, West of Ireland and with support from Galway City Council, the street feastival is happening on Ravens Terrace,

The Street Feast will allow you to sample a taste of each business including Kai Restaurant, Dela Restaurant, John Keoghs Bar Galway, An Tobar Nua, Rouge Restaurant Gourmet Tart CO Creole BBQ & Grill Hooked on Henry Street, Crust Bucket Tartare Cafe + Wine Bar Aniar Restaurant Massimo Bar Galway The Secret Garden Galway Monroe’s Galway and retailers including McGuire’s Daybreak, Bell Book and Candle, Farraghers and Ernies of course.

This year the Westend summer festival in conjunction with the Galway European Region of Gastronomy 2018 will officially begin on Thursday May 31st with a street food showcase at Ravens Terrace each day. Business, producers and local suppliers will be showcased through the ERG Food Truck at Galway Westend each day and people will get a chance to meet the producers and the chefs of Westend eateries and also sample some of their most well known dishes.

Ravens Terrace will be closed off to traffic completely on June 4th and there will be live music and face painting. This is a family friendly day in the westend that aims to encourage people to cross the bridge and enjoy all that is going on in this much-loved area of Galway.

“Each business will be offering a flavour of what they do. The area will be set up as a picnic area and we are inviting Galway to the westend to enjoy all of our amazing food. Each business will have a stall set up selling food and refreshments, there will be live blue grass music and face painting will be happening for all the children,” explained Mags Bohan of Dela Restaurant and the westend Traders association.
