“Voices of Tribes” Returns to Celebrate Galway’s Rich Cultural Diversity
Galway’s spirit of diversity and togetherness will shine bright once again as GOCOM Radio hosts the second edition of its multicultural celebration, “Voices of Tribes 2.0”, in collaboration with the Amdalah Africa Foundation (AMDAF).

This event is taking place on Saturday 15th November 2025 at the Galway Rowing Club Woodquay, between 12 noon and 5 PM; and sponsored by Galway City Council Local Community Event Fund, as part of its commitment to fostering inclusion, understanding, and social connection.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, Voices of Tribes brings people from all walks of life together for a day filled with music, dance, art, storytelling, and food — a joyful celebration of Galway’s growing multicultural community.

The event will feature performances and showcases from local artists, cultural groups, and community organisations, representing countries and traditions from across Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Visitors can expect everything from energetic traditional dances to art exhibitions, poetry, and live music that captures the vibrant heartbeat of modern Galway.

Highlights of the day include:
Art Station with artist Elena Juzgado
Music and storytelling from diverse community performers
Cultural showcases from Galway’s new communities
Global food tasting and community stalls
Youth and family-friendly activities

“Voices of Tribes is all about connection,” says Islammiyah Saudique-Kadejo, Convener and CEO of GOCOM Radio. “It’s a space where people meet, share, and celebrate each other’s cultures — where every word, rhythm, and colour tells a story of belonging. Galway is home to so many voices, and this event gives those voices a stage.”

The event is part of GOCOM Radio’s ongoing work to promote inclusion, language diversity, and community wellbeing through creative media and cultural exchange.
