The Big Spool show reel is a for-students-by-students opportunity for those with creative talent to showcase their original film work on the big screen for a wider audience. It is organised by the University of Galway’s Student Film Society, and this year, will mark the very first year of our event’s running! It showcases a wide variety of film genres and mediums, including action, thriller, horror, comedy, drama, animation, documentation, Irish language and more. Plus, proceeds will fund new equipment for our film society, so that we can give students from all different backgrounds a chance to create something exciting themselves.
