Join author, broadcaster and content creator Roz Purcell for a hiking workshop and book signing at Kennys Bookshop on Saturday, November 30th at 2pm.

Roz will host a hiking workshop together with mountaineering instructor, Brian Bateson of climbit.ie, and she will also be signing books! The workshop will be suitable for people of all levels of hiking, and topics covered will include:
– How to layer for hiking
– Gear guide
– Simple navigation techniques
– How to plan and time a route
– What to do in an emergency event

Tickets are €10 each and all proceeds will go to local voluntary service Galway Mountain Rescue, who provide a 24-hour search and rescue assistance in the upland and remote areas of counties Galway and Clare.

Roz Purcell is the founder of The Hike Life brand, a broadcaster on RTÉ 2FM, an author of several books and a content creator. This is her second book on hiking in Ireland.

The Hike Life: 50 More to Explore showcases 50 new trails around Ireland from popular hikes to lesser known trails including Strickeen in the Gap of Dunloe, Urris Lakes Loop in Donegal and one of Roz’s own favourite dog-friendly trails outside of Dublin, ‘The Devil’s Glen’. The book also includes familiar tips from book one including trail details, route descriptions, best photo spots, where to eat afterwards, and ideas for places for a wild dip or somewhere wonderful to visit nearby.

Copies of the book will be for sale and for signing at the event.
