Join us at Taylor’s Bar & Beer Garden for an Irish Whiskey evening with Ger Buckley, Master Cooper at Midleton Distillery. Ger will show the importance of cooperage and barrels in the production and maturation of Irish Whiskey with a demo of how coopering takes place including charring! A true craftsman in the purest form of the word, Ger is a fifth generation Midleton Cooper who uses the same methods and tools as his grandfather. His passion stems not only from his family’s lineage, but also from his fascination with the varied attributes his preferred source material allows.
Ger will also be joined by Ger Garland, global brand ambassador who will lead a tasting and talk on Redbreast, Green Spot & Jameson Black Barrel and Zofia Zayons, wine ambassador who will give a talk and taste of their Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon, which uses Irish Whiskey barrels in the production.
