GCF Lofternoon Delights with Robbie Forde, Stephen Ryan & more

Join Galway Comedy Festival for an afternoon of hilarious antics at the Loft at Seven with Stephen Ryan, Robbie Forde, Jessica Collins, Therese Cahill and Bernard Casey.

Ireland’s biggest festival of comedy comes roaring back to Galway this October Bank Holiday, and with the last of the COVID restrictions set to disappear, organisers are planning a triumphant return for this week-long festival of fun. With 45 shows, over 7 days, and 80+ artists it looks set to be the party of the century as Galway once again lights up with laughter!

Doors: 2.30pm, Show: 3pm

The Artists;
Stephen Ryan – Stephen Ryan is a previous winner of the Forbidden Fruit Comedy Competition, a finalist in the 2016 Irish Comedian of the Year competition and a two-time finalist in the prestigious Chortle Student Comedy Competition. This Limerick comedian has performed at numerous festivals throughout Ireland and the UK including Edinburgh, Latitude, Forbidden Fruit, TedFest and Vodafone Comedy Carnival and is a regular headliner on the Irish comedy circuit.

Robbie Forde – Robbie Forde is a blind comic, and although he is not a virgin, he is new to the comedy circuit. Robbie and his mysterious guide dog are really enjoying performing around Ireland, and although they may not “see eye to eye”… well, that’s not the point, Robbie doesn’t see the point! Either way, we all like to laugh and create laughter – after all, isn’t that the key to friendship?

Jessica Collins – Throughout the past four years doing stand-up comedy, Jess has gone from seeing her favourite Irish comics to sharing the stage with them. She has already achieved a number of her comedy goals, one of which was to feature in the line-up at Electric Picnic in 2019, not to mention being a finalist at the Show Me the Funny competition back in early 2020. Jess has made regular appearances in many of Ireland’s well-known comedy clubs. If there is a room to create tension in, she will be there mic in hand to make sure it remains there!

Therese Cahill – Therese Cahill is Ireland’s first female “limp-up” comic, singer, songwriter, actress, writer, mother, former life model and reluctant temp! With the cheekiest of grins, she reels off songs written somewhere deep within a slightly corrupt yet (mostly) harmless mind, all done with the smile that would win over even the most hardened of psychopaths! She’s the perfect mix of warmth and devilment! As seen on Ireland’s Got Talent.

Bernard Casey – Hailing from a sleepy fishing village in South Kerry, Bernard Casey is a brand new type of comic; young and rural but very much a 21st century man. His witty observations of young men trying to pull in nightclubs, boy racers, the Irish and French oral and a wildly off topic tale of his insane jealousy of his dog keeps audiences laughing out loud yet engaged in the silly scenarios he weaves.
