Saturday night – Family Time!
For the final Family event of January we’re happy to have GIRL’s Marion Hawkes joining us on the Rooftop, with Paul Belton making a highly anticipated return to the weekend mainfloor. In Factory we’ve got Hard Candy who return for the first time since NYE.
With over two decades of collecting and obsessing over music, Marion’s sets are known for their genre and era spanning eclecticism.
Having earned her stripes warming up for DJs on the Belfast circuit, she is known now for her distinctive presence and command of the stage.
Co-founder of the female-focused duo GIRL, queer disco Ponyhawke, both of which were featured in The Wire & Dazed magazine’s in 2018 with highlights of Marion’s career to date including playing at super-club Shine, Belfast’s premier electronic festival AVA, Derry’s Celtronic, respected nights Twitch and The Night Institute as well as warming up for the likes of ELLLL, Lolz, Umfang, Violet, Moxie, Avalon Emerson, Or:la, The Black Madonna.
Paul Belton is the man that needs almost no introduction at this stage, being one of Electric’s longest standing and most senior residents. With a great range of taste from hip-hop to house, disco and even the best party tunes he holds a unique standing in Galway as one of the city’s most recognised and well rounded DJs on the go. Usually found regularly midweek, but no stranger at all to weekend sets, it will be fun to see what he brings to the Saturday mainfloor.
Factory will be held down all night by Hard Candy, ran by regular Auris Tatumba who is well versed in delivering the heavier side of electronic music to the intense confines of Factory.
Welcome to our Family, and yours.
