Comedy KARLnival with Karl Spain and friends

Róisín Dubh Comedy presents Comedy KARLnival with KARL SPAIN featuring Chris Macarthur Boyd, Ronan Grace and John Dowlin.

Karl Spain has another cracking line up for us at this week’s Comedy KARLnival.

While Pat McDonnell will always be best known for his Daniel O’Donnell spoofing Eoin McLove character on Father Ted, it should never be forgotten that Pat is also one of Ireland’s most accomplished and respected stand-up comedians. He has appeared on Moone Boy, Stew, Naked Camera, and written and performed for The Savage Eye. He has enjoyed international acclaim for his comedy, and his vacant stare and guileless manner often have audiences laughing before he opens his mouth.

“An impressive and persuasively tub-thumping performance” – Chortle

Hailing from Ballinasloe, Breda Larkin began her career in the theatre, writing and performing one woman comedies. Now she leaves behind her theatre life searching for stardom in the manic world of stand up comedy!!

She’s a unique voice on the scene – being Ireland’s only queer rural comic – with her own brand of storytelling and comedy songs. She’s supported Karl Spain in the past and has shared the stage with PJ Gallagher, the Lords of Strut and many more as well as starring in a documentary for RTE about moving statues.

David Gilna is an award-winning playwright from Swords, Co Dublin. David is founder & host of Lightning Comedy, named after the time he got struck by lightning (yes, really). He has performed at The Olympia Theatre, Electric Picnic, Leicester Square Theatre, Swords Castle, Teatro Electra, The Empire, Fossett’s Circus & many more place with and without ceilings.

“Gilna’s energy onstage is infectious” – The Times
