Saoirse Ronan plays an Irish immigrant who lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a new romance. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Ahead of this month’s sold-out Cúirt reading with Colm Tóibín from his forthcoming novel Long Island, the sequel to Brooklyn, Cúirt x Cinema Book Club are revisiting the original novel and the acclaimed 2015 film, directed by John Crowley from a screenplay adaptation by Nick Hornby and starring Saoirse Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson.
