Enjoy Exclusive Local Ingredient Dishes and Offers during Dine In Galway Week
Dine In Galway week is taking place county- and city-wide 5-11 November, with more than sixty restaurants, cafés and bars running exclusive regional dishes and deals.
More than 60 restaurants, cafés and bars across all of Galway county and city are participating in Dine In Galway — the week-long food festival taking place between the 5th and 11th of November as a celebration of the European Region of Gastronomy title. The festival is a tribute to Galway’s dynamic dining landscape and its dedication to regional produce. Throughout Dine In Galway week, more than 60 of the county’s and city’s restaurants, cafés and bars will introduce exclusive menu items and special offers that highlight local food and drink.
Programme co-ordinator for ERoG, Galway Elaine Donohue said, “We are thrilled with the number of establishments that have signed up to participate in Dine In Galway. Their level of support is testament to the strong ties that Galway’s dining community has built with the region’s local food producers. The public can look forward to a week of exciting local food festivities when Galway’s restaurants, cafés and bars are putting local ingredients at the centre of their menus in celebration of the European Region of Gastronomy title.”
For a proper taste of what to expect during Dine In Galway week 5-11 November, among the city establishments taking part is 56 Central with a special local-ingredient dish of Collerans Black Pudding served on a 6oz beef burger from Heaney Meats with caramelised onion in a Le Petit Delice brioche with skin-on fries and a glass of wine or bottle of Galway Bay Brewery beer supplied by J & C Kenny (cost €13).
At The Yard at The House Hotel, you will be invited to choose any four Dine In Galway options from the Á La Carte tasting plates (available daily from 5pm) along with two Yard cocktails for €40. Dishes will include gamberi prawns, glazed confit of duck leg, chicken kofta and rib eye steak in collaboration with Mary’s Fish, Curleys Fruit & Veg, Pauline Scully Eggs and Micil Irish Gin.
O’Reilly’s Bar & Kitchen in Salthill will feature a special Dine In Galway dish showcasing Connemara lamb from Tommy Keane Butchers of grilled lamb cutlets, slow cooked lamb shoulder, potato terrine, carrot purée and roasting jus served with a glass of house wine or local craft beer from Galway Hooker brewery.
Dine In Galway will extend to restaurants, cafés and bars beyond the city, too. Among the county establishments taking part are West Restaurant at The Twelve Hotel in Barna which is partnering with Gannet Seafood, Beechlawn Organic and Uncle Matt’s Farm on unique regional menu specials.
At O’Dowd’s Seafood Bar & Restaurant in Roundstone, you will be able to enjoy a free glass of Guinness or soft drink with each Locally Smoked Fish Plate from Connemara Smokehouse.
Brigit’s Garden Café will introduce a regional special of McGeough’s Smoked Pudding and Bacon Fritter served with Uncle Matt’s Salad, Pear & Basil Mayo.

Dine In Galway is taking place between the 5th and 11th of November as a celebration of the European Region of Gastronomy 2018 title for Galway, West of Ireland. It is being led by the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Galway City Business Association and The Latin Quarter. It is supported by Galway County Council and Galway City Council. It is run in collaboration with local businesses county- and city-wide. Participating businesses are members of the Galway, West of Ireland Food Charter and new businesses are asked to sign the Food Charter.
