To get maximum possible soakage, a feed in The Chili Shack is essential. With half portions of chili starting at €5 and an array of hotdogs, wings and poutine all costing under €8, a good hearty meal doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Their burgers, which are all served with paprika fries, are out of this world and they’ve even got something for the veggies and vegans amongst us.

Relatively new to the city, Vocho are a small, independent Tex-Mex style restaurant that serve up freshly made quesadillas, nachos, tacos, bowls, burritos and chili in a quirky, laid back setting. A feed like that for under a tenner? It’s a no brainer. A student paradise, they’ve even got Buckfast bottle lamp shades, so whether you prefer a spicy salsa or a mild meal, it’s going to be class.

One of the very best spots in town for vegetarian food, TGO Falafel Bar’s Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean inspired menu features a serious student deal that will blow your mind. All made with tender love and care (and the finest local produce), all you need is €7.50 to send you into a food coma after a falafel wrap bursting with fresh salad, hummus and sauces, chips galore and a drink. All you need is your student card!

The headquarters of student eating in Gaillimh, you’ll see Deliveroo drivers weaving all around the city, fetching and carrying burrito goodness. Doing God’s work. With student discounts and loyalty cards available, you won’t find the meals passing before you’ve nabbed yourself a free one, and maybe even one of the coveted Boojum t-shirts. Whether you’re in for a bowl, burrito, taco or nachos, you’ll leave with a happy head.

Baked in an Italian-style wood-fired oven, each and every pizza pie is made using only the freshest ingredients. Earphones on, tunes blaring, no one can see you dancing like a fool! Well, they can, but you won’t care once you get your complimentary jager bomb into you. They’re also always hosting great comedy nights, Club GASS and the best local and international musical talents, so keep an eye out. You never know who’ll be on stage.

Their stellar reputation draws people in, while the huge portions and friendly service keeps them coming back.
