Galway shines at Food Awards Ireland 2017
The Food Awards Ireland 2017 celebrate the very best in the food industry, and Galway came through with flying colours last night at the awards ceremony!
O’Grady’s on the Pier (pictured above) won Best Seafood Establishment 2017! Located along the seaside in Barna, O’Grady’s is a homey, comfortable restaurant and bar serving the best of local seafood. Stunning views of Galway Bay just add to the experience! Oysters, Killary mussels, Connemara smoked salmon salad and even some land-lubber options make it a great experience.
The Quay Street Kitchen in Galway City won Best Restaurant of the Year 2017 for the West of Ireland. This chic, cosy restaurant in the city centre has a menu that offers high-standard comfort foods like vegetable curry and slow-cooked lamb shank. There’s no sense of trying too hard: everything on the menu is delicious and cooked to perfection, served up beautifully and served in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Biteclub Streetfood Discotheque took Best Streetfood 2017, with no surprise there! Biteclub is a fun, atmospheric restaurant serving disco brunches on the weekend, and lunch and dinner seven days a week. Their sticky three-joint wings, halloumi burger and amazing fish tacos are unparalleled.. We’re hungry just thinking about it! Find more here!
Congratulations to all the winners and nominees — you’ve done Galway proud!
