Galway Races 2018 celebration round-up

Here’s your lineup for everything happening at the Galway Races this year, from pre-racing tipster lunches to booming after parties!


Prom to Paddock
Glamour meets goodwill as all monies raised from the event will go towards the work of Enable Ireland, a non-profit organisation that provides free support services to children with physical disabilities and developmental difficulties in Galway city and county. With a prosecco reception, live entertainment, impressive giveaways and plenty of familiar faces, ‘Prom to Paddock’ promises to kick off the famous Galway Races afternoon of entertainment before a private coach takes guests to Ballybrit for an evening of exhilarating racing.

Bubbly Brunch
Throughout Race Week, the Gaslight Bar and Brasserie will be hosting fabulous prosecco brunches to kick off your racing day in style. They’re just steps away from the bus transfer from Eyre Square, meaning you can relax over breakfast and then step right onto the bus with your racing cards in hand!

The Latin Quarter
With 20 bars full of trad music, top DJ’s and live bands, as well as over 50 eateries, street entertainment and pedestrianised streets, there’s nowhere to party after a day at the Races like the Latin Quarter! Bars will be serving your favourite cocktails, gins and pints till late, with free entry into most venues.

Their Ladies Day post-racing celebration includes a pink gin reception with complimentary cocktail for ladies on arrival, and DJ Killian McDonnald getting you out on the dance floor! Joshua Tree will be playing music til late. If you’re heading in earlier, they’ll have all-day breakfast throughout the Races and all the fixtures up on the HD screens.

Clayton Hotel
Conveniently located in Ballybrit, the Clayton Hotel has a week-long agenda of after parties lined up for Race Week! Each night brings a full evening of live bands and DJs till late. Most nights, they have three venues going for all the party madness you can handle!

Most Stylish Lady at Hotel Meyrick

Dancing with the Star’s lovely Anna Geary will be guest judge to this evening of fashion and fabulous prizes. Faller’s Jewellers have once again sponsored thousands of euros in prizes for the most stylish people of the evening! There will be live music and plenty of glamour to round out a perfect day at the Races.

For €45 your day includes dinner at the Lough Rea Hotel’s fabulous restaurant, bus transfer to and from the racecourse, a prosecco reception after, and live music each night!

Pre-racing lunches at the g Hotel
Their Bubbly Tipster Lunch is the place to be on Wednesday, hosted by Irish Racing star Davy Russell, winner of the 2017 Galway Plate and the 2018 Grand National at Aintree. Your ticket includes a bubbly reception and two-course lunch, return bus transfer and ticket into the racecourse, and all-night evening entertainment. On Friday, their pre-racing lunch has two seatings and also includes return bus transfer.

Lunch and racing at the Galmont Hotel
Enjoy a two-course lunch at Marina’s Grill with prosecco, followed by bus transfer to the racecourse and your entry ticket included! After the Races they’ll escort you back to the Galmont for a full night of drinks at the bar and live entertainment, including Maurice the Piano Man and their house DJ.
