Emma Langford is a singer-songwriter from Limerick in the West of Ireland. On the 13th of June she will share a stage with Galway’s own harmonic triplets, The Bluebirds.
Her distinctive voice described by Phil Coulter as “a breath of fresh air” blends traditional Irish lilt with folk and jazz sensibilities. Her delicate guitar work meanwhile complements an intuitive sense of melody. Live, she demonstrates a winning combination of insightful penmanship and witty demeanour, creating an enthralling on-stage presence.
Emma’s debut album “Quiet Giant” described by Today Fm’s Ed Smith as “absolutely stunning” was released on October 2017, with a music video showcasing her home-town of Limerick City to accompany the album’s single, Closed Book.
The record received considerable airtime on national radio, and remained in the independent Irish charts, and on radio playlists for many weeks following its release, securing the young artist’s place as a staple of the national folk scene.
